ABOUT US
OUR REAL COMMITMENT REACHES BEYOND GAS & OIL.
The National Union of Somali Oil, Petroleum, and Gas Workers (NUSOP) is the leading voice for workers in Somalia’s energy sector. Established on April 21, 2011, we represent 12,848 members, including 6,746 dues-paying workers, advocating for fair wages, workplace safety, and strong labor protections.
As an affiliate of the Somali Congress of Trade Unions (SOCOTU), which represents 148,627 workers across 13 unions, we actively engage with national and international labor organizations to strengthen workers’ rights and industry standards.
At NUSOP, we believe in empowering workers, ensuring fair policies, and promoting a sustainable and just energy sector. We collaborate with government bodies, private sector stakeholders, and global labor organizations to create a better future for oil, petroleum, and gas workers in Somalia.
OUR MISSION
NUSOP is committed to protecting the rights and welfare of oil, petroleum, and gas workers by advocating for fair wages, workplace safety, legal protections, and career development. We strive to establish world-class labor standards and ensure that workers benefit from industry advancements and international labor policies.
